In Relay Payroll, you set how often you pay your team weekly, every other week, twice a month, or monthly and choose your first pay date. You set this up while you're onboarding, before you run your first payroll. Pick the schedule that fits how your team works.

How to choose your pay schedule

Open payroll setup in Relay and go to your pay schedule.
Choose how often you'll pay your team: weekly, every other week, twice a month, or monthly.
Set your first pay date the day your team gets paid for the first time on this schedule.
Set your pay period, the stretch of time each paycheck covers.
Review your schedule and save it.

What pay frequencies can I choose?

You can pay your team on any of these schedules:

Weekly you pay your team every week.
Every other week (biweekly) you pay every two weeks, on the same day each time.
Twice a month (semimonthly) you pay on two set dates each month.
Monthly you pay once a month.

PRO TIP: If you pay your team by the hour, leave at least 4 business days between the end of a pay period and the pay date. That gap is called paying "in arrears" it gives you time to collect and check everyone's hours before you run payroll.

HEADS UP: Paydays fall on business days. If a pay date lands on a weekend or a bank holiday, it moves to the business day before.
