Business owners can remove a team member or advisor from a Relay account in about a minute via the web or the mobile app, which revokes their access immediately.
What you need before you start
Owner-level access to the Relay account (only business owners can remove people)
The name or email of the person you want to remove
Access to Relay on the web or the Relay mobile app
Who can remove team members and advisors?
Only business owners can remove team members or advisors from a Relay account. Team members with non-owner permissions cannot remove other people, even if they hold transaction or admin permissions.
If you need to change someone's access without removing them, edit their permission level instead.
How do I remove a team member or advisor on the web?
Sign in and use the Team tab. The full flow:
Sign in to your Relay account on the web.
Go to the Team tab.
Find the team member or advisor you want to remove.
Click the three vertical dots next to their name.
Select Remove from organization, then confirm.
The person loses access to your Relay organization as soon as you confirm.
How do I remove a team member or advisor in the mobile app?
Use the Team section under Settings. The full flow:
Sign in to the Relay app on your mobile device.
Go to the Settings tab.
Tap Team.
Select Team or Advisors at the top of the screen.
Tap the team member or advisor you want to remove.
Tap the three vertical dots at the top-right corner.
Tap Delete user.
The person loses access to your Relay organization as soon as you confirm.
What happens when someone is removed?
They lose access to your Relay organization immediately. Specifically:
No access to the organization or any of its accounts
No visibility into transactions
Access to any Relay cards issued to them is revoked
If they later need access again, you can re-invite them using the same email address.
Can I change someone's access instead of removing them?
Yes. If the person still belongs in your organization but needs different permissions, edit their permission level rather than removing them. Editing preserves their history in your account.
Common issues
The three-dot menu or Remove option is missing: only business owners see the remove option. If you don't see the menu, you may not have owner-level permissions on the account.
The person still shows in the list after removal: refresh the page, or sign out and back in, to update the list.
You want to change access, not remove: use the edit permissions flow instead. See Editing permission levels in Related articles below.
