How to Get Statements for a Closed Checking or Savings Account

Statements for a closed Relay checking or savings account stay available. Go to Settings > Account statements and select the All tab, which lists closed accounts alongside your open ones.

What you need before you start

  • A Relay account with at least one closed checking or savings account

  • The month or months you need statements for

  • A desktop browser. Closed-account statements are on the Relay web app.

Are my statements still available after I close an account?

Yes. Statements for a closed account stay available in Settings > Account statements on the All tab. You can download them yourself!

What if I closed my entire Relay account?

If your whole Relay business account is closed you can no longer sign in, so you cannot reach Settings to download any further account statements. Download any statements you need before you request closure.

If the business is already closed, contact our Customer Experience team — we can retrieve your statements for you.

How do I find statements for a closed account?

Open Settings > Account statements and switch to the All tab, which lists closed accounts alongside your open ones.

1. Sign in to your Relay account on the web. 2. Open Settings, then select Account Statements. 3. Select the All tab. The Open tab shows open accounts only; All adds your closed accounts. 4. Find the statements you want. Each row shows the Month and the Account it belongs to, and closed accounts carry a red Closed label. 5. Select the download icon on the row to download that statement, or tick the checkbox on each statement you want and select Export X Statements at the top right, then Export to confirm.

How do I narrow down a long list of statements?

Use Filters at the top of the page.

1. Select Filters. 2. Use Account(s) to pick the closed account by name. The list is searchable and you can select more than one. 3. Use Card(s) to narrow the list to particular cards, and Account Type to show only Checking or only Savings. 4. Use Date Range to limit the period. Pick one of the pre-set ranges, or set your own From and To dates. 5. Select Reset Filters to clear everything and see the full list again.

What file formats can I download closed-account statements in?

The same formats as open accounts: PDF, CSV, and OFX for a single statement.

If you select several statements and export them together, you can also tick Combine into one file to get every selected statement as a single PDF. Combined exports are PDF.

For the full download and email steps, see How to Download or Email Bank Statements From Relay.

Can I email a statement from a closed account?

Yes. Closed-account statements can be emailed the same way as any other statement: select the three-dot menu on the statement row, then select Email Statement.

The All tab has to be selected first so the closed account's statements are listed. For the full email steps, see How to Download or Email Bank Statements From Relay.

Can I get closed-account statements in the Relay mobile app?

No. The Relay mobile app cannot show statements for a closed account, so use a desktop browser and the All tab.

On mobile you can still download statements for your open accounts, from inside each account.

Common issues

  • I can't find my closed account. Check which tab you are on. The Open tab hides closed accounts — select All.

  • I have too many statements to scroll through. Select Filters, then filter by Account(s), Account Type, or Date Range.

  • An older statement is missing from the list. Check the page count at the bottom of the page — the statement may be on a later page. Filtering by Date Range is usually faster than paging through.

  • I need several months in one file. Tick the statements you want, select Export X Statements at the top right, then tick Combine into one file to get a single PDF.

  • I need transactions for a date range, not a whole month. Generate a custom report instead — see How to Generate a Custom Transaction Report in Relay.
