How to Export Your Account Statements to Hubdoc, Dext, and Other Bookkeeping Tools

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

Relay can send your monthly checking account statements straight to Hubdoc, Dext, or a similar bookkeeping tool so you don't have to download and forward them yourself. Setup takes about two minutes on desktop.

What you need before you start

  • An active Relay account with at least one checking account

  • A desktop browser (this feature isn't supported in the Relay mobile app yet)

  • A Hubdoc or Dext account with your unique upload email address ready

  • Owner or team-member permission level that allows managing integrations

How do I connect Hubdoc or Dext to my Relay account?

Follow these eight steps in the Relay web app on desktop.

  1. Log in to your Relay account at app.relayfi.com from a desktop browser.

  2. In the left-hand navigation, click Settings, then select Integrations.

  3. Find the Hubdoc or Dext logo in the list of available integrations and click Connect.

  4. Choose the date you want statements to start from. Relay will export statements dated from that day forward.

  5. Enter your unique upload email address from Hubdoc or Dext. In Hubdoc, this shows under Accounts; in Dext, under Add Documents.

  6. Choose the file format you want statements delivered in: PDF, CSV, or OFX.

  7. Select the Relay checking accounts you want to send statements from. You can include one, several, or all of them.

  8. Click Save or Connect to finish. Relay will now send monthly statements to your bookkeeping tool automatically.

Which file formats can I export?

You can choose PDF, CSV, or OFX for each connection. PDF matches the layout of the statement you see inside Relay and is best for archival and receipt-matching in Hubdoc or Dext. CSV is a plain data export for reconciliation or import into a spreadsheet. OFX is the machine-readable format most accounting systems accept for bank feeds.

When are statements sent to my bookkeeping tool?

Statements are sent once per month, on a monthly cadence tied to your account statement cycle. Once the integration is live, no manual step is needed. If you want to see a statement before the next monthly export, you can download it yourself from inside Relay.

Can I set this up from the Relay mobile app?

No. Statement export to Hubdoc, Dext, and other bookkeeping tools is only available in the Relay web app on desktop. If you're on mobile, log in from a computer to complete the setup. Once connected, the monthly export runs on its own, so you don't need to keep using desktop after setup.

Common issues

  • You don't see Hubdoc or Dext in the Integrations list. Confirm you're logged in on a desktop browser, not the mobile app, and that your permission level allows managing integrations.

  • Statements are not arriving in Hubdoc or Dext. Check that the upload email address you entered matches the one shown in your Hubdoc or Dext account exactly. Small typos are the most common cause.

  • The file format is wrong. Return to Settings > Integrations and edit the connection. You can change the file type without disconnecting.

  • You need a statement before the next monthly send. Download it from Relay directly. See Downloading and emailing bank statements for the step-by-step.
