How to set a default payment method for a payee in Relay

What is a default payment method?

A default payment method is the method Relay preselects when you pay a particular payee. A "Default" badge identifies it.

How do I set a payee's default payment method?

Set the default in the payee's "Payment methods" tab.

  1. Select "Payments," then "Payees."

  2. Open the three-dot menu beside the payee and select "Edit."

  3. Select the "Payment methods" tab then "Edit Payment Details" for the payment method you want to set as the default payment method.

  4. Check "Set as default payment method".

  5. Select "Save changes" followed by "Save payee."

What should I know about Same-Day ACH defaults?

  • Select "Use same-day ACH by default" before selecting "Save changes" and "Save payee." Change the Same

  • Day ACH choice for an individual payment when needed.
