This article walks you through the secure form Relay sends when a Relay customer requests your payment details, typically a two-minute task.
What you need before you start
The original email from notifications@info.relayfi.com with the "Receive Payment" button
The account details for the payment type being sent to you (ACH, domestic wire, international wire, or check)
Access to the phone number or email address that will receive your two-factor verification code
The legal name and contact details that match the account you want the payment sent to
How do I know the email is really from Relay?
Legitimate Relay payment requests come from the email address notifications@info.relayfi.com and reference the specific Relay customer who requested payment from you. The message names the requestor, names you as the recipient, and specifies the payment type: ACH transfer, domestic wire, international wire, or check payment.
If any of those details look off, or the email comes from a different address, do not click the link. Contact the Relay customer directly through a channel you already trust and confirm they sent the request.
How do I fill out the payment information form?
Follow these six steps from the email in your inbox.
Open the email from notifications@info.relayfi.com and click the green Receive Payment button to open the secure portal.
Review and accept the on-screen disclaimer to continue.
Confirm your name, phone number, and email address.
Enter the two-factor verification code Relay sends to your phone or email.
Enter your payment details for the payment type the Relay customer is sending. Requirements vary by type.
Review the summary of what you entered, then submit the form.
What information will Relay ask for?
The exact fields depend on how the Relay customer is paying you. Relay may ask for more or less information based on the payment type.
ACH transfer: your account number, routing number, and the name on the account
Domestic wire: your account number, routing number, receiving bank name, and the name on the account
International wire: your account number or IBAN, SWIFT/BIC code, receiving bank name and address, and the name on the account
Check payment: the payee name and the mailing address where the check should be sent
Enter each field carefully. Mismatched names or transposed digits are the most common cause of delayed or returned payments.
What happens after I submit the form?
A summary of your submission appears on screen, and the Relay customer is notified that you have provided your payment information. From there, the Relay customer completes the payment on their end. Your details are stored securely so the customer can send future payments without asking you to fill out the form again.
Common issues
You didn't receive the email. Check your spam or junk folder for a message from
notifications@info.relayfi.com. If it's not there, ask the Relay customer to resend the request. The link says it has expired. Ask the Relay customer to send a new payment request. Links are time-limited for security.
You didn't receive the verification code. Confirm the phone number or email on the confirmation screen is correct, then click resend. If it still doesn't arrive, use the alternate delivery option (email instead of SMS, or vice versa).
The form is asking for information you don't have. The requestor may have selected a payment type that doesn't match what you can receive. Contact the Relay customer and ask them to send a request for a different payment method.
You're not sure the request is legitimate. Stop, do not enter any information, and confirm the request with the Relay customer through a channel you already trust before proceeding.
