Why Did My Relay Capital Loan Offer Change or Disappear?

If you have a Relay Capital loan, new offers come from Fundbox, not Relay, and refresh daily. An offer lasts 24 hours, then it can change or disappear.

This article covers new loan offers for customers who already have, or recently had, a Relay Capital loan. If you are applying for your first Relay Capital loan, your offer follows a different timeline — see How to Apply for Relay Capital.

Who this article is for

  • Existing Relay Capital borrowers whose new loan offer changed amount or is no longer showing

  • Borrowers who want to know how often their eligibility for another loan is reviewed

  • Customers wondering whether Relay can change or restore an offer

Who decides whether I am eligible for a new Relay Capital loan?

Fundbox, Relay's lending partner, decides — not Relay.

  • Relay shares account information with Fundbox daily as part of the lending partnership

  • Fundbox uses that information, your existing loan status, and its own criteria to decide whether you qualify for another loan

  • Fundbox sends Relay a daily eligibility report, and Relay surfaces the result to you

Relay is not calculating your eligibility in real time. What you see in Relay is the latest eligibility information Relay received from Fundbox.

How long is a new loan offer valid?

If you already have, or recently had, a Relay Capital loan, a new loan offer is valid for 24 hours, until the next daily update arrives.

At that point one of three things happens:

  • Your offer is refreshed and stays available

  • Your offer changes — the amount can be different

  • Your offer is no longer there, because your eligibility changed

First-time Relay Capital offers follow a different window, which is covered in How to Apply for Relay Capital.

Why is my offer different from the one I saw before?

Because eligibility for a new loan is reassessed every day, the offer you see today can differ from the one you were eligible for previously.

Each daily report reflects Fundbox's current assessment of your business. A change in amount, or an offer that is no longer available, is the result of that reassessment rather than an error in your account.

Can Relay change or restore my offer?

Relay does not set eligibility or offer amounts, so we can't change or restore an offer ourselves.

What we can do is help you understand what you are seeing. If you want to know more about why your offer changed, our Customer Experience team can raise a question with our lending partner on your behalf.

What can I do if my offer expired or disappeared?

An expired or withdrawn offer does not permanently disqualify you from a future Relay Capital loan.

  • It is recommended to act on an offer while it is live, since offers are refreshed daily

  • Keep using your Relay account for your day-to-day business banking

  • Keep repayments on your current Relay Capital loan on schedule

  • Watch for updates — eligibility is reviewed again in the next daily cycle

Does every Relay Capital borrower see new loan offers?

No. New loan offers are rolling out to eligible Relay Capital customers in stages, and eligibility is determined by Fundbox. Not seeing an offer today does not mean anything is wrong with your account.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my offer amount go down? Fundbox reassesses eligibility daily and sends Relay an updated report. If the new report carries a lower amount, that is the amount Relay shows.

Can I get my previous offer amount back? Eligibility is reassessed in each daily update, and a future offer may be higher, lower, or unavailable. Relay is not able to reinstate a previous offer, but our Customer Experience team can raise a question with our lending partner on your behalf.

Does an expired offer hurt my chances of getting another one? No. An expired or withdrawn offer does not permanently disqualify you. Your eligibility is reviewed again in the next daily cycle.

Why can't Relay tell me exactly why my offer changed? The decision and the reasoning behind it come from Fundbox. Relay surfaces the eligibility result it receives. If you want more detail, our Customer Experience team can raise your question with our lending partner.

My new loan offer is still showing. How long do I have? A new loan offer is valid for 24 hours, until the next daily update. If you want it, act while it is showing.
