You can edit, delete, or temporarily deactivate an existing auto-transfer rule from either the Relay web app or the Relay mobile app in under a minute.

On the web app, use the active switch on the rule row.
On the mobile app, use the Deactivate automation toggle inside the rule.
What is an Instant frequency auto-transfer rule?
Instant frequency is a beta rule setting that evaluates every incoming transaction as it happens and triggers a transfer whenever your account balance crosses the maximum threshold you set on the rule.
Constraints to know before switching a rule to Instant frequency:
The source and destination cannot be the same account.
Only one Instant rule can originate from a given source account at a time.
Savings accounts cannot be used as the source of an Instant rule.
Changing an existing rule's frequency to Instant does not run the rule right away; a new transaction must meet the rule's conditions before it fires.
Who can edit auto-transfer rules?
Only team members with Administrator permissions on the Relay Account, or advisors with Super Administrator permissions, can create, edit, or delete auto-transfer rules.
If the Edit auto-transfer rule option is missing from the three-dot menu, your role likely doesn't have the required permission. Ask an Administrator or Super Administrator on the account to make the change, or review your access with them.
Common issues when editing auto-transfer rules
You switched a rule to Instant frequency and it didn't fire immediately. A transaction must occur before an Instant rule activates. Updating the frequency alone does not run the rule.
You can't set a savings account as the source of an Instant rule. Savings accounts are not eligible as the source of an Instant-frequency rule. Choose a checking account instead.
You can't create a second Instant rule from the same account. Only one Instant rule can originate from a given source account at a time. Edit the existing Instant rule or pick a different source.
The Edit auto-transfer rule option is missing from the menu. Your role likely doesn't include Administrator permissions. Ask an Administrator or Super Administrator on the account to make the change.
Source and destination look identical when reviewing your changes. An account cannot be both the source and the destination of an auto-transfer rule. Pick a different account for one side of the rule.
