Cancel a scheduled or recurring transfer between your Relay accounts from the Accounts tab on the web. The task takes about two minutes.
What you need before you start
To cancel a scheduled or recurring transfer, you need the right access and the right entry point.
A Relay account with an active scheduled or recurring transfer already set up
Access to Relay on the web (cancelling a scheduled or recurring transfer is not currently supported on the Relay mobile app)
Permissions to manage transfers on the account
What is a scheduled or recurring transfer in Relay?
A scheduled or recurring transfer is an automated movement of money between two of your own Relay checking or savings accounts under the same business.
A scheduled transfer runs once on a future date you choose. A recurring transfer runs on a repeating schedule until you cancel it. Both stay inside your Relay account and do not involve outside payees.
What is the difference between a transfer and a payment?
A transfer moves money between two of your own Relay accounts. A payment sends money to a payee outside your Relay account, such as through an ACH, wire, or check.
If you are trying to stop money going to an outside payee, see Cancelling an ACH payment or Setting up recurring or scheduled payments instead.
How do I cancel a recurring transfer?
Cancel a recurring transfer from the Scheduled Transfers page on the web.
Sign in to your Relay account on the web.
Click the Accounts tab.
Select Manage Accounts.
Select Scheduled Transfers.
Choose the recurring transfer you want to cancel.
Select Cancel Transfer.
Confirm by selecting Cancel Recurring Payment.
Once confirmed, the recurring transfer stops immediately and no future runs will occur.
How do I cancel a scheduled transfer?
Cancel a one-time scheduled transfer from the same Scheduled Transfers page.
Sign in to your Relay account on the web.
Click the Accounts tab.
Select Manage Accounts.
Select Scheduled Transfers.
Choose the scheduled transfer you want to cancel.
Select Cancel Transfer.
Confirm by selecting Cancel Scheduled Transfer.
The scheduled transfer will not run on its planned date once you confirm.
Can I edit a scheduled or recurring transfer instead of cancelling it?
No. Scheduled and recurring transfers cannot be edited directly in Relay. Cancel the existing transfer and create a new one with the details you want.
How do I set up a new scheduled or recurring transfer?
Create a new transfer from the Move money area of your Relay account on the web. If you want the movement to happen automatically based on incoming deposits or a maximum balance, use auto-transfer rules instead of a fixed schedule.
For percentage-based or balance-based automation, see Setting up and managing auto-transfer rules.
Common issues
You cannot find the Scheduled Transfers option. Confirm you are signed in on the web, not the mobile app. Cancelling a scheduled or recurring transfer is not currently supported on the Relay mobile app.
You want to change the amount or frequency of a recurring transfer. Scheduled and recurring transfers cannot be edited directly. Cancel the existing transfer and create a new one with the amount or frequency you want.
The transfer you are trying to cancel is a payment to an outside payee, not an internal transfer. Use the ACH or check cancellation flow instead. See Cancelling an ACH payment.
You need the movement to run automatically going forward. Consider replacing the scheduled or recurring transfer with an auto-transfer rule, which allocates money based on percentages of incoming deposits or a set maximum balance.
