Add your Relay Visa® Debit Card or Relay Visa® Credit Card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay so you can tap to pay at contactless terminals.
What you need before you start
A Relay Visa® Debit Card or Relay Visa® Credit Card, physical or virtual
A smartphone with Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet installed
The Relay mobile app installed (required for the fastest path on iOS)
A PIN set on the card if you're adding a virtual card, since some wallets require one
How do I add my Relay card to Apple Wallet from the Relay app?
On iPhone, the Relay iOS app can push a card straight into Apple Wallet in five taps.
Open the Relay iOS app and sign in.
Tap Cards in the bottom navigation.
Select the debit or credit card you want to add.
Tap Add to Apple Wallet. Your card details fill in automatically.
Agree to the Apple Wallet terms and set the card as your default if you want it used for tap-to-pay by default.
At this time, only iOS users can add their Relay card to Apple Wallet directly through the Relay app. On Android, add the card manually through Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet using the steps below.
How do I add my Relay card to Apple Pay manually?
Open the Apple Wallet app and add the card there if you'd rather not use the in-app shortcut, or if you're adding a physical card without opening the Relay app.
Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
Tap the + icon in the top right.
Choose Debit or Credit Card.
Scan the front of your physical card, or tap Enter Card Details Manually and type the card number, expiry date, and CVV.
Verify your identity if Apple prompts you. Relay will send a code you enter to confirm the card belongs to you.
Agree to the terms and set the card as your default if you want.
How do I add my Relay card to Google Pay?
Google Wallet (formerly Google Pay) is the digital wallet on most Android phones, and it also works in a browser at pay.google.com.
Install Google Wallet from the Google Play Store, or open pay.google.com in your browser.
Sign in with your Google account.
Tap Add to Wallet, then choose Payment Card.
Scan the front of your card, or enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV manually.
Verify your identity using the code Relay sends you.
Agree to the Google Wallet terms.
How do I add my Relay card to Samsung Pay?
Samsung Wallet is the built-in digital wallet on Samsung Galaxy devices.
Open the Samsung Wallet app on your Samsung device.
Sign in with your Samsung account.
Tap Add, then choose Payment Cards.
Scan the front of your card, or enter the card number, expiry date, and CVV manually.
Verify your identity using the code Relay sends you.
Agree to the Samsung Wallet terms.
Which Relay cards can I add to a digital wallet?
All four Relay card variants can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay:
Physical Relay Visa® Debit Card
Virtual Relay Visa® Debit Card
Physical Relay Visa® Credit Card
Virtual Relay Visa® Credit Card
Virtual cards may need a PIN before some wallets will accept them. Set the PIN in the Relay app before you try to add a virtual card.
Common issues
The wallet won't accept a virtual card. Set a PIN on the virtual card in the Relay app, then try again. See Virtual card PINs.
The verification code didn't arrive. Check your notification preferences in the Relay app. If it still doesn't come through, request a new code from the wallet's card-verification screen.
The card is added, but transactions decline at the terminal. Confirm the card is active and unfrozen from the Cards section in the Relay app, and check that vendor and category controls aren't blocking the merchant.
Google Wallet asks you to update. Update the Google Wallet app and Google Play Services from the Play Store, restart the phone, and retry the add-card flow.
