Quick Requests let you collect one-off payments from customers by sending a link they can pay by card, ACH, wire, or pay-by-bank.
What you need before you start
A Relay account with Administrator or Manager permissions (or Super Administrator access for advisors)
Your customer's name and email address
A confirmed industry classification (a one-time compliance step required by Adyen for card payments)
A default payout account selected on Relay
How does a Quick Request work?
A Quick Request is a payment link you send to a single customer. They open the link, choose how to pay (card, ACH, wire, or pay-by-bank), and the money settles into the Relay account you picked as the default payout. Each request shows the amount, due date, and any notes you added.
How do I send a Quick Request from the web?
Sign in to Relay on desktop, then follow these steps.
Sign in to your Relay account on desktop.

The customer receives an email with a payment link. You can copy the link anytime from your account within the Invoices tab. Locate the pending Quick Request, select the three dots on the far right, and choose Copy Link.
How do I send a Quick Request from the Relay mobile app?

What payment methods can my customer use?
Your customer can pay through one of three routes:
Credit or debit card, processed through Adyen
ACH or domestic wire, initiated by the customer from their own bank
Pay by bank (ACH debit), where the customer authorizes Relay to pull the payment from their bank account
Who on my team can send Quick Requests?
Only team members with Administrator or Manager permissions can send Quick Requests. Advisor access to send requests requires the Super Administrator role. Other roles may be able to view Quick Requests depending on their permission level, but they cannot create them.
How do I change my default payout account?
Change your default payout account from the web:
Go to Invoices > Settings.
Open the Default Payout Account dropdown.
Select the Relay account you want to receive future payouts.
The default payout setting is web only. To change it, use the desktop app.
How do I manage or archive a Quick Request?
Manage active Quick Requests from Invoices > Requests on the web, or Payments > Payment Requests in the mobile app. From there you can:
Copy the payment link to share it manually
Cancel a pending request
Filter and sort requests (mobile app)
Show a QR code for the payment link (mobile app)
Archiving happens two ways:
Manual: use the Actions column on the requests table (web only).
Automatic: Relay auto-archives a request 30 days after it is paid or cancelled. Requests marked paid or cancelled more than 60 days ago archive daily at midnight.
Archived requests appear at the bottom of the requests table. To bring one back, open the three-dot menu on the archived row and select unarchive (web only).
How much does a Quick Request cost, and when does the money settle?
Processing fees and settlement timing depend on the payment method the customer chooses and the sending bank. For the full breakdown of fees and settlement windows, see Invoices and Quick Requests: Processing Fees, Settlement Timelines, and Limits.
Common issues
You cannot see the Quick Request option. Your team role likely does not include payment permissions. Ask your account Administrator to update your role to Administrator or Manager.
The industry classification prompt keeps appearing. Complete the classification once on the desktop web app, then future requests will skip the prompt.
A request disappeared from the main list. The request likely auto-archived 30 days after payment or cancellation. Scroll to the bottom of the requests table to find it, or unarchive it from the three-dot menu.
The customer says the link no longer works. The request may have been cancelled or archived. Check the status in Invoices > Requests and resend a new link if needed.
Card payments are not available for a customer. Card processing is not supported in every country or industry. See Countries not Eligible for Card Payments with Invoices or Quick Requests and Industries not Eligible for Card Payment Requests.
