How to Reset Your Password on Relay

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

Reset your Relay password from the login screen in about two minutes: request a reset email, confirm your 2FA code, and set a new password.

What you need before you start

  • The email address you use to sign in to Relay

  • Access to that email inbox

  • Your registered two-factor authentication (2FA) method (SMS or authenticator app)

How do I reset my Relay password?

Follow six steps from the login screen:

  1. Go to https://app.relayfi.com/login or open the Relay mobile app.

  2. Click Forgot password?

  3. Enter the email address you use to sign in to Relay.

  4. Click Reset. Relay sends a secure reset link to your inbox.

  5. Open the reset email, click the secure link, and confirm your identity with your registered 2FA method (SMS or authenticator app).

  6. Set a new password that meets the strength rules below.

For your security, every password reset requires 2FA. Relay cannot skip this step, even over email or a support call.

What makes a strong Relay password?

A strong Relay password is at least 12 characters, uses a mix of character types, and is unique to Relay. Four rules cover most cases:

  • Use at least 12 characters.

  • Include upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Avoid easily guessed information like birthdays, business names, or common words.

  • Never reuse a password from another site, especially another banking app.

A password manager can generate and store a unique password for every site, which removes the memorization problem and keeps each password strong.

What if I didn't receive the password reset email?

Reset emails usually arrive within five minutes. If yours hasn't shown up, work through these checks in order:

  • Check your spam or junk folder for a message from a @relayfi.com address.

  • Confirm you entered the exact email address you use to sign in to Relay. Typos and old email addresses are the most common cause.

  • Request the reset link again from the login screen.

  • If it still doesn't arrive, contact the Customer Experience team so we can verify the email on file and troubleshoot delivery.

What if I no longer have access to my 2FA device?

If you've lost access to your registered 2FA method, you cannot complete the password reset on your own. Contact the Customer Experience team so we can verify your identity and help you regain access to your account.

For security reasons, Relay cannot make changes to your login information (including your 2FA method) over email.

Can I reset my password from the Relay mobile app?

Yes. Open the Relay mobile app, tap Forgot password? on the login screen, and follow the same six steps as the web flow. The reset link works on both mobile and desktop, so you can start on one device and finish on the other.
