What Should I Do if I Forgot the PIN for My Debit Card?

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

If you forgot your Relay Visa® Debit Card PIN, call Relay's Customer Experience team at 1-888-205-9304 to reset it. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm EST.

How do I reset a forgotten Relay debit card PIN?

Call Relay's Customer Experience team at 1-888-205-9304. The team can reset your PIN over the phone once your identity is verified. Support hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm EST.

Forgotten-PIN resets are handled by phone so the team can confirm who you are in real time. You cannot reset a forgotten PIN through the Relay app or dashboard.

What will Relay ask before resetting my PIN?

Relay's Customer Experience team will ask a set of security questions to confirm your identity before making any changes. This step protects your account from unauthorized PIN resets and is required every time.

Have your Relay account details handy when you call, including the email address and phone number on file.

Can I reset my PIN through live chat or the Relay app?

Forgotten-PIN resets are done over the phone, since the team needs to verify your identity live. Live chat is available for other card questions, and the Help Center covers proactive PIN changes when you still remember your current PIN.

What if I still remember my current PIN and just want to change it?

You can change your Relay Visa® Debit Card PIN yourself inside the Relay app when you know your current PIN. No phone call is needed, because knowing the current PIN acts as verification.

Step-by-step instructions are in the Updating your card PIN article.

Common issues

  • Calling outside business hours: Phone support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm EST. Call back during those hours to reach the PIN reset team.

  • Card is lost or stolen, not just the PIN: A missing card should be frozen or terminated, not reset. See Freezing or terminating a Relay debit card.

  • Want to change a PIN you still know: Use the in-app path in Updating your card PIN instead of calling in.
