Joining the Relay Partner Program

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

The Relay Partner Program is Relay's referral and rewards program for accounting, bookkeeping, and advisory firms. Existing firms on Relay are auto-enrolled; new firms enroll by contacting an Account Manager.

Who is the Partner Program for?

The program is built for professional service firms that refer small business clients to Relay. Your firm qualifies if it meets all three criteria:

  • Your firm is an accounting, bookkeeping, or advisory firm

  • Your firm has an active Relay account

  • Your firm has a firm portal set up in Relay

Eligibility to earn rewards starts the moment you refer your first client.

How do I join if my firm is already on Relay?

Existing accounting and bookkeeping firms on Relay are enrolled in the Partner Program automatically. You do not need to reapply or submit anything.

To review your program status and learn how to earn rewards, meet with your Account Manager. If you are not sure who your Account Manager is, see "Who is my Account Manager?" below.

How do I join if my firm is new to Relay?

New firms enroll in the Partner Program during onboarding to Relay. To start:

  1. Open the Partner Program page on relayfi.com

  2. Book a demo with a Relay Account Manager

  3. Complete firm setup, including your firm portal

  4. Refer your first client to start earning rewards

Your Account Manager walks you through white-glove onboarding for your firm and your first clients.

What do I get as a Partner?

The Partner Program includes four benefits designed to support firm growth:

  • Cash rewards for each qualifying client you refer to Relay

  • Partner perks that unlock as your firm reaches program tiers

  • Advisor Directory listing to help small business owners find your firm

  • Ambassador sponsorship opportunities for content creators, speakers, and community leaders in the accounting profession

Reward amounts, tier thresholds, and Ambassador eligibility are covered in the linked articles below. Cash rewards are subject to program terms.

Do I need to complete Partner Certification?

Partner Certification is recommended but not required to join the program or earn rewards. You can enroll, refer clients, and earn without certifying.

Certification is an online course that covers how to position Relay to clients, set up firm workflows, and use Relay to support Profit First and other cash management methods. Most firms complete it in a few hours.

Relay also runs bi-weekly demo webinars for firms that want a lighter-weight introduction before starting certification.

How is the Partner Program different from the affiliate program?

The two programs serve different professionals:

  • The Partner Program is for firms that provide accounting, bookkeeping, or advisory services to small business clients. Firms refer clients directly and earn rewards on client relationships.

  • The affiliate program is for content creators, influencers, and educators with a small business audience. Affiliates earn on content-driven sign-ups and do not need to be Relay customers.

Some professionals qualify for both. If you run a firm and also produce content for small business audiences, ask your Account Manager about running in both programs at once.

Who is my Account Manager?

Your Account Manager is the Relay contact assigned to your firm. Existing firms with a prior demo or onboarding call already have one.

Two ways to find yours:

  • Search your inbox for prior emails from a @relayfi.com sender referencing your firm setup or demo

  • If you cannot locate them, contact the Customer Experience team through the link at the bottom of this article
