Global search in Relay lets you find transactions, bills, accounts, pages, and common actions from one search bar, so you don't need to navigate through multiple areas of your account.
What do I need before I start?
You need an active Relay account and access to the web app or Relay mobile app. Everything below works the same on both.
An active Relay account
Sign-in access on web or mobile
Account permissions for the items you want to find (results are scoped to your role)
How do I use global search in Relay?
Use the global search bar at the top of your Relay account to find transactions, bills, accounts, pages, or actions in a few seconds.
Sign in to your Relay account on web or mobile.
Click the global search bar at the top of the page.
Type what you're looking for. Exact names, related words, or phrases all work.
Review the grouped search results.
Click a result to open it, or select an available action to continue.
What can I search for?
You can search across five categories of information and quick actions inside your Relay account.
Transactions processed through your Relay account
Bills created or paid through Bill Pay
Accounts (checking accounts and sub-accounts under your business)
Pages inside Relay (settings, reports, product areas)
Common actions, such as creating a card, sending money, or generating an invoice
Global search also supports natural search terms, so you don't always need an exact match to find what you're looking for.
How do I take an action from a search result?
Some search results let you move directly to the next step without opening the result first. For example, a result for "send money" can launch the payment flow, a result for "pay a bill" can open Bill Pay, and a result for "create a card" can start a new Relay Visa® Credit Card or debit card request.
To take an action from a search result:
Enter the task you want to complete (for example, "send money" or "create a card").
Look for a result labeled as an action rather than a record.
Click the action to start it in the appropriate part of your Relay account.
How can I improve my search results?
If the first result isn't what you expected, try changing your search terms rather than repeating the same query. Global search matches on related words and details, so small phrasing changes often surface the right result.
For a transaction, try the merchant name, the amount, or the account it hit.
For a page, try the task you want to complete instead of the exact page title.
For an action, use plain verbs like "send", "create", or "pay".
Try broader keywords first, then narrow if the results are noisy.
What if global search isn't returning what I expected?
Most global search problems come down to the search terms themselves or the permissions on your role. These are the patterns to check first.
Result isn't showing up. Try a related term or a broader keyword rather than an exact match.
A page or action is missing from the results. Confirm your role has permission to access it; some pages are restricted by user role.
A team member sees different results than you. Search results are scoped to each user's permissions.
Nothing loads when you click the search bar. Refresh the page, then sign back in if the issue persists.
You can find the page but not the action. Not every page has a matching quick action; use the search result to open the page and continue from there.
Frequently asked questions about global search
Do I need to type the exact name of what I'm looking for?
No. Global search in Relay accepts natural search terms and related phrases, so you don't need an exact match to find what you're looking for.
What can I find using global search in Relay?
You can find transactions, bills, accounts, pages inside Relay, and common actions like creating a card, sending money, or generating an invoice.
Can I use global search to find transactions?
Yes. You can search for any transaction processed through your Relay account by name, amount, or related details.
Can I start an action from global search?
Yes. Some search results include a direct action, such as creating a card, sending money, or generating an invoice, so you can move from search to task without extra navigation.
Why am I not seeing the result I expected?
Try different or more specific search terms. Global search matches on related names and details, so switching from an exact name to a related keyword often surfaces what you're looking for.
Does global search replace the navigation menu?
No. Global search is an additional way to navigate Relay. The regular menu remains available for browsing accounts, transactions, and settings.
Can everyone on my team see the same search results?
No. Results are scoped to each user's role and permissions.
What should I do if I still can't find what I'm looking for?
