How to Manage Your Account and Profile Information in Relay

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

Your Relay profile is where you update the personal, contact, security, and business details tied to your login. This article shows you where to find it and what you can change.

What you need before you start

  • Access to your Relay login on desktop or the mobile app

  • Your current password (required for password updates)

  • A government-issued ID that shows your updated legal name (required only for legal name changes)

  • Your two-factor authentication method available (required for some security-sensitive changes)

How do I get to my profile in Relay?

You reach your profile from Settings on desktop or the initials menu in the mobile app. The steps differ slightly by device.

On desktop

  1. Log in to your Relay account at app.relayfi.com.

  2. Click your business name in the bottom-left corner.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Choose Profile.

In the mobile app

  1. Open the Relay mobile app and log in.

  2. Tap your initials in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Profile.

What can I update from my profile page?

Your profile page covers three groups of information: personal details, security settings, and business details. You handle most updates yourself; a few require government ID or a message to Customer Experience.

Personal information

  • Work email address. Change from desktop only. Relay sends a verification link to the new address, and the change takes effect once you click it.

  • Mobile phone number. Used for two-factor authentication codes and account alerts.

  • Mailing address. Where Relay sends physical debit cards and paper checks.

Security

  • Password. Enter your current password, then your new one. If you cannot remember your current password, use Forgot password from the login screen instead.

Business information

Some business updates happen on your profile page. Others need Customer Experience to verify and apply the change on your behalf.

  • Business or billing address. Update yourself from the Business section of your profile.

  • Legal name. Requires a government-issued ID that shows your updated legal name in full.

  • Business name. Contact Customer Experience so the update flows through Thread Bank verification.

  • Business website or business phone number. Contact Customer Experience.

  • EIN or entity type. A new EIN or a change in entity type requires opening a new Relay account under the new entity.

  • Merging two logins. If you set up separate logins for the same business, Customer Experience can merge them into one account.

Why can I only change my email address on desktop?

Email changes go through desktop because the verification link and identity checks are wired into the desktop flow. If you only use the mobile app, log in through a browser at app.relayfi.com to update your email address.

What happens if I lose access to the email or phone number on file?

Contact Customer Experience. If you cannot sign in because you no longer receive two-factor codes or verification emails, our team will verify your identity through another channel before updating the contact method on your account.

Common issues

  • Verification email did not arrive. Check spam, then confirm the new address is spelled correctly. The verification link does not expire, so an older message still works.

  • New email will not save. Email updates are desktop only. Log in through a browser to complete the change.

  • Legal name update rejected. The government-issued ID must show your new legal name in full. Nickname-only IDs will not process.

  • Cannot reach the profile page on mobile. Tap your initials in the top-right corner, not the business name. The business menu on mobile is separate from the profile menu.
