Change your Relay account email in Settings > Profile on desktop. The update takes about two minutes and requires SMS verification plus a link click on the new address.
What you need before you start
Desktop access to Relay (this change is not available in the Relay mobile app)
The mobile phone number linked to your account, so you can receive the SMS verification code
Access to the new email inbox, so you can click the verification link
Your current Relay sign-in
How do I change my email address?
Sign in to Relay on a desktop browser, then work through these seven steps.
Go to Settings > Profile.
Under Work Email, click Change email.
Enter the SMS two-factor code sent to your linked phone number.
Type your new email address and click Send verification.
Open the verification message Relay sent to the new address.
Click the verification link inside that email.
Sign back in to Relay with your new email address.
What happens after I submit the new email address?
Your old email keeps working until you click the verification link sent to the new address. The verification link does not expire, but the new email will not sign you in until it is confirmed.
Why can't I change my email in the Relay mobile app?
Email changes must be completed from a desktop browser. The mobile app does not currently support this action, so you will need to sign in on a computer to finish the update.
What if I've lost access to my current email and can't sign in?
Contact our Customer Experience team. The team can verify your identity by phone and help you regain access to your Relay account when you can no longer receive email at the address on file.
Common issues
The SMS code doesn't arrive. Confirm the phone number on file is current, then request a new code. See What should I do if I'm not receiving my 2FA OTP codes? for deeper troubleshooting.
The verification email isn't in the inbox. Check spam and promotions folders. If it is still missing after five minutes, restart the flow from Settings > Profile.
The new email address is rejected. The address may already be linked to another Relay account. Try a different address or contact Customer Experience.
The linked phone number is out of date. Update your 2FA number first, then restart the email change. See Updating your mobile phone number for 2FA.
