How to Receive a Domestic Wire in Your Relay Account

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

Receiving a domestic wire in Relay takes about three minutes: locate your checking account's wire receiving details on web or mobile, then share them with the sender.

What you need before you start

  • An active Relay checking account to receive the wire

  • The exact legal business name, beneficial owner name, or Doing Business As (DBA) name on file with Relay to give the sender

  • Access to your Relay Account via web or the Relay mobile app

What information does the sender need to route a domestic wire?

The sender needs your Relay checking account's routing number, account number, and the account holder name that Relay has on file.

The account holder name must match one of three options: the legal business name on your Relay Account, the name of a beneficial owner, or a DBA name you have added with supporting documentation. Wires arriving under a different name may be delayed or returned by the sending bank.

How do I find my wire receiving details on the Relay web app?

Your domestic wire receiving details live inside each checking account's Details view.

  1. Sign in to your Relay Account at app.relayfi.com.

  2. Click the Accounts tab.

  3. Select the checking account you want the wire deposited into.

  4. Click Details.

  5. Under Receive Money, click Domestic Wires.

  6. Copy the displayed information and share it with the sender.

How do I find my wire receiving details on the Relay mobile app?

The mobile flow takes five steps and produces the same account, routing, and account holder details as the web app.

  1. Open the Relay mobile app.

  2. Tap the Accounts tab.

  3. Select the checking account you want the wire deposited into.

  4. Tap Share account info.

  5. Send the details to the sender using your preferred sharing method.

Whose name can appear on an incoming wire to my Relay Account?

Incoming wires must be addressed to the business name, a beneficial owner name, or a DBA name that Relay has on file.

  • Business name. The legal entity name registered on your Relay Account.

  • Beneficial owner name. The name of any individual listed as a beneficial owner on your Relay Account.

  • DBA name. Any Doing Business As name you have added, provided you have submitted supporting documentation for it.

Wires directed to a name that is not on file may be held for review or returned. If a customer or vendor needs to pay you under a different business name, add that DBA to your Relay Account first.

Are there fees or limits on incoming domestic wires?

There is no charge to receive a standard domestic wire in your Relay Account. Wires received through a Relay-generated payment request may include processing fees.

Daily and monthly receiving limits apply to every Relay checking account. To view your current limits, open the checking account in Relay and check the account settings. Outbound domestic wire fees vary by Relay subscription plan.

When will the funds appear in my Relay Account?

Incoming domestic wires typically post to your Relay checking account the same business day the sending bank submits them.

Timing depends on when the sending bank releases the wire and any compliance checks on the receiving side. For a detailed view of processing windows, see the transaction settlement and processing timelines article.

Common issues

  • Wire held or returned because of a name mismatch. The account holder name on the wire must exactly match the business, beneficial owner, or DBA name on file with Relay. Confirm the exact name with the sender before they resend.

  • Sender received a routing error. Double-check that the sender used the routing and account numbers from the correct Relay checking account, not from a savings or secondary account.

  • Funds have not arrived on the same business day. Confirm the sender submitted the wire before their bank's cut-off, then allow one additional business day before contacting support.

  • DBA name is not accepted. Add the DBA to your Relay Account with supporting documentation, then ask the sender to reinitiate.
