How to Request a Transaction Limit Increase on Relay

UpdatedAugust 11, 2026

Business owners can request higher ACH, wire, or check deposit limits from the Relay dashboard or the Relay mobile app; Customer Operations reviews requests within one business day.

What you need before you start

  • Business owner permissions on the Relay account. Team members and advisors cannot submit this request.

  • Access to the Relay dashboard on the web, or the Relay mobile app.

  • The transaction type you want to increase (ACH, wire, or check deposit) and the target dollar amount.

  • Context for the request: a one-time large transaction, or an ongoing higher-volume need.

What are transaction limits on Relay?

Transaction limits are the default caps Relay sets on ACH payments, wire transfers, and mobile check deposits when you open your account. Limits vary by transaction type and are tailored to your business. You can view your current limits from the Accounts tab and request an increase at any time as your business needs change.

Who can request a transaction limit increase?

Only business owners on the account can submit a limit increase request. Team members and advisors do not have access to this feature, even if they hold transaction permissions on the account.

How do I request a transaction limit increase on the web?

Submit the request from the Accounts tab in your Relay dashboard.

  1. Log in to your Relay account.

  2. Go to the Accounts tab and select Manage Accounts.

  3. Click Transaction Limits.

  4. Find the transaction type you want to increase (for example, ACH or wires) and click Request limit increase.

  5. Fill out the request form. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.

  6. Click Continue and add any details that help our team process your request.

  7. Click Submit Request.

How do I request a transaction limit increase in the mobile app?

Submit the request from the Accounts tab in the Relay mobile app.

  1. Open the Relay app on your mobile device and sign in.

  2. Go to the Accounts tab.

  3. Select a checking account.

  4. Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner and choose View transaction limits.

  5. Select the relevant transaction type and tap Request limit increase.

  6. Complete the request form and tap Continue.

  7. Add any additional details, then tap Submit Request.

Should I request a one-time or permanent increase?

Choose a one-time increase for a single occasional transaction, and a permanent increase for ongoing higher-volume needs.

  • One-time increases cover a specific upcoming transaction, such as a large vendor payment or a single outbound wire.

  • Permanent increases raise your ongoing cap so you can consistently move larger amounts without submitting a new request each time.

Not sure which to choose? Start with what you need now. Customer Operations can reassess if your needs shift.

What happens after I submit the request?

Our Customer Operations team reviews your request and responds within one business day. You'll receive a confirmation once your request is approved, or a message if we need additional information to complete the review.

Common issues when requesting a limit increase

  • The "Request limit increase" button isn't visible. Confirm you're logged in as a business owner rather than a team member or advisor; only owners can submit this request.

  • The form asks for details you don't have handy. Include the target dollar amount, the transaction type, and a brief business reason (for example, a large equipment purchase or new vendor onboarding). Vague requests slow the review.

  • You need the increase sooner than one business day. Note the timing in the additional details field. Customer Operations cannot guarantee same-day turnaround, but flagging urgency helps.

  • You submitted a request and haven't heard back. Check the email associated with your Relay account for a follow-up from our team. If it's been more than one business day, contact Customer Experience.
