You can order a third-party checkbook for any Relay checking account you've enabled for check writing. Each checkbook prints the account and routing numbers for one specific account, so make sure you're ordering for the right one.
New: You can now enable check writing on more than one checking account. If you've enabled more than one, order a separate checkbook for each account.
Before ordering your checkbook
Before you order a third-party checkbook, turn on check writing for the account you want to order it for. Each checkbook is tied to one account, and that account's number and routing number are the only ones that will work on it. If you haven't turned on check writing yet, see Enabling third-party check support for setup steps, including how to enable check writing on more than one account.
Ordering your checkbook
You can order generic checks from vendors1 like ts-direct.com or from popular retailers like Staples, Sam's Club, Costco, and Walmart. The process of ordering a checkbook, including price and shipping time, varies by vendor.
When you order your checks, you'll be asked to provide the following:
Your business name as it appears on Relay.
Your business address.
The bank name and address: Thread Bank, 210 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857.
A sequence number. This can be any number, but we suggest starting with 101 or 1001.
Your Relay routing number for the account you're ordering checks for.
The account number for that same account.
A bottom row of numbers: that account's routing number, plus its account number, with no spaces or dashes.
Please note: some retailers may not ship to PO boxes, and may require that the checks be shipped to the same business address printed on the check.
Where can I find my account and routing numbers?
The account number you provide when ordering third-party checks is the one for the specific check-writing account you're ordering for. To find it, follow these steps on your desktop:
Log in to your Relay account on your desktop.
Navigate to the Settings tab.
Click Checkbooks along the left-hand side panel.
Under Check writing accounts, find the account you're ordering a checkbook for and locate its account and routing numbers. If you've enabled more than one account, double-check you're using the numbers for the correct one.
Things to Know
If you've enabled check writing on more than one checking account, you'll need to order a separate checkbook for each account — the account and routing numbers are different for each one.
