How do I share my wire details from the Relay mobile app?
Share your account and routing numbers from the Accounts tab in the mobile app in four steps.
Sign in to the Relay mobile app.
Go to the Accounts tab and select the account you want the wire deposited into.
Tap Share account info.
Share the displayed account and routing numbers with the wire sender.
The sender uses the same details their bank asks for on any domestic wire, so no extra setup is needed on Relay's side.
Which names can I receive a domestic wire under?
Domestic wires must be sent to a name that matches your Relay Account records: the business's legal name, the name of a beneficial owner on the account, or a Doing Business As (DBA) name added to your account.
If the sender's bank flags a name mismatch, the wire may be returned. To add a DBA, see How to add a DBA name to your Relay account.
How long does a domestic wire take to arrive?
Domestic wires typically post to your Relay Account the same business day the sender's bank submits them, provided the wire is initiated before that bank's cutoff time.
Wires sent late in the day, on weekends, or on bank holidays post on the next business day. For full timing details, see Transaction settlement and processing timelines.
Are there fees for receiving a domestic wire?
Receiving a standard domestic wire into your Relay Account is included at no charge from Relay. The sender's bank may charge them a fee to send the wire.
Charges from Relay apply only when a domestic wire is received through a payment request initiated from your Relay Account. Outgoing domestic wire pricing varies by subscription plan; see Overview of Relay Subscription Plans for the current per-plan pricing.
What are the limits on receiving domestic wires?
Each Relay Account has daily and monthly limits on incoming domestic wires. Limits vary by subscription plan and account activity.
To view your current limits, see Viewing your account limits. If you need a higher limit for a specific inbound wire, see Requesting a transaction limit increase.
Common issues
The wire has not arrived after one business day. Confirm with the sender that their bank released the wire before their daily cutoff. Wires released after cutoff post on the next business day.
The sender's bank rejected the wire for a name mismatch. Confirm that the payee name the sender is using matches your business's legal name, a beneficial owner's name, or an added DBA on your Relay Account.
The sender's bank asked for a physical bank address. Provide Thread Bank's address, available in What is Thread Bank's address?.
The incoming wire exceeded your limit and was returned. Check your current wire limits and request an increase before the sender tries again.
The sender is outside the United States. A wire from a non-US bank is an international wire and follows a different flow. See Receiving an international wire.
