Relay's card switching tool updates your saved payment method on merchant profiles like Amazon and Uber, so recurring subscriptions and one-off purchases route to your Relay card.
What is Relay's card switching tool?
Relay's card switching tool is a built-in feature that adds your Relay Visa® Debit Card as the primary payment method on merchant sites where you already have a card on file. It's powered by Knot, a third-party vendor that connects to hundreds of merchants and is trusted by Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Once you verify your merchant login, Knot places your Relay card on file so future purchases and subscription renewals route to it automatically. Your existing card typically stays on the account as a backup.

The tool is available to specific team-member and advisor permission levels.

Common issues and how to fix them
Your card isn't activated yet. Virtual Relay cards activate automatically, but physical cards need to be activated when they arrive before you can switch them onto a merchant profile.
The merchant isn't in the list. Try the mobile app for the fullest list. If the merchant is still missing, contact the Customer Experience team to request it.
You dismissed the switch prompt. Open the card details page and select the three-dot menu to re-launch the card switching tool.
Your Relay card doesn't appear at the merchant. Most merchants support multiple cards on file, so your previous card may still be on the account. Log in to the merchant to confirm your Relay card is set as primary.
You don't have your merchant login credentials. Knot needs your merchant login to authenticate. Reset the merchant password if you can't recall it, then run the switch again.
